UNAIR NEWS – UNAIR students often win student debate in national competition. This time, three knights of Airlangga made another the achievement. Being held by State Administration Department, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta at the beginning of last month, the annual debate competition entitled “Anafora: National Debate Competition” was a national level student debate competition with Asian Parliamentary system.
In this competition, each team consisted of three students from the same university. The competition started from the pre-elemination round from one to three, then top four teams were chosen, and continued to the final round. Not to mention the competition brought a very credible jury in their field. There were core adjudicators who have been certified by World University Debating Championship (WUDC) and invited adjudicators who are also certified by the National University Debating Championship (NUDC) and Asian University Debating Championship (AUDC).
In this prestigious debate competition, UNAIR team consisted of Aisyah Ayu Anggraeni Hidayat (Communication Studies 2015), Ria Setiawati (Communication Studies 2015), and Hasbi Ashshidiqqi (Taxation Study 2015). All three of them managed to set aside at least 12 teams who came from Sabang to Merauke.
UNAIR won first place on the top four final round. When they met UNAIR NEWS team on 12 November, Aisyah said that their competitors were from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta..
They went smoothly in final round, the UNAIR team then fought Telkom University Bandung. At this round, UNAIR team won on 1st place.
“The extraordinary process began from pre-elimination 1 to pre-elimination 3 and UNAIR team got the highest score. The remarkable things that we met, discussed, exchanged ideas and discussed political stuff with friends all over Indonesia in there” said Aisha.
