UNAIR NEWS – There was something special for Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) in 20th Congress of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, December 3-6, 2015. The sweet memory is still fresh as in that international scientific forum, eight research papers from UNAIR Faculty of Medicine Department of Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine were accepted and presented in the congress.
”In this annual APSR attended by almost 10,000 participants , usually only 2 or 3 papers accepted from one university. But this time eight papers from UNAIR were accepted and presented,” said Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amin, dr., Sp.P(K), the head of the team from UNAIR Faculty of Medicine Department of Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine, on Tuesday, February 2 in his office.
According to Prof. Muh Amin, APSR congress is held by professional organization in the field of respirology, in different locations in Asia Pacific and UNAIR Faculty of Medicine Department of Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine always participate in each congress.
Every congress is attended by almost ten thousands participants from all around the world, with experts as speakers, from Asia Pacific or other regions in the world. Other than presentations of experts, participants can also participate to present their researches in the form of oral presentations or posters.
“Eight papers accepted from UNAIR in Congress of APSR 2015 were the most papers accepted from any other universities in Indonesia attended the congress,” added Prof. Muh Amin, who is also the Head of UNAIR Academic Senate. He also said that UNAIR was there in a team of ten, from lecturers and students of PPDS Pulmonology.
