UNAIR NEWS – Airlangga Education Expo 2022 was at its second day on Saturday, February 19, 2022. During the AEE’s series of activities, the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) conducted a virtual info session through zoom platform and Universitas Airlangga’s YouTube channel.

Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) Dr Wisnu Wibowo SE MSi explained information related to FEB UNAIR. There are four departments in FEB, the Department of Development Economics, Management, Accounting, and Islamic Economics.

“The four departments oversee the programs, undergraduate degree, master’s degree, and doctorate. Furthermore, there is IUP (International Undergraduate Programme) program,” he added.

National and International accreditation

Wisnu explained that FEB UNAIR is currently accredited and certified nationally and internationally. Nationally, through National Accreditation Body for Higher Education (BAN-PT), UNAIR, especially FEB, has been accredited A in all programs.

Internationally, UNAIR has also been accredited by ABEST21 (The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow, a 21st-century organization) and AUN (ASEAN University Network).

“There are only 4 AUN certified universities in Indonesia, and UNAIR is one of them,” he revealed.

FEB UNAIR academicians are expected to have global educational quality standards with the AUN certification standard. Hopefully, FEB UNAIR academicians can affect their respective regions or countries.

Wisnu further explained the program’s quota in FEB UNAIR. FEB UNAIR admits 1058 undergraduate students, 291 master students, 77 doctoral students, and 50 accountants annually.

“Therefore, prayers from both parents are needed to enter the programs of FEB UNAIR successfully,” he stated.

International program

FEB has international standards, so it has programs in a global scope. Among those are exchange students and exchange staff programs to foreign universities. There are also double degree, credit transfer, and AMERTA (Academic Mobility Exchange for Undergraduate at Airlangga) programs.

Although the info session activity is conducted virtually, FEB UNAIR is getting greener and greener if viewed directly. Thus the hope will refresh the brain and help students learn with high fighting power.

“In addition, the facilities in FEB are getting more complete such as international standard reading rooms and improved computer laboratories,” he mentioned.

In the next session, Dean of FEB UNAIR Prof Dr Dian Agustia SE MSi Ak CMA CA held a Question and Answer (QnA) session with high school students. The high school students were enthusiastic and asked lots of questions about FEB UNAIR.

Prof Dian said that inevitably, robots can replace regular and routine activities. However, robots cannot replace humans in designing how to calculate costs from innovative businesses. An analyst such as accountant profession is still very much needed.

“The current curriculum has also been redesigned, making it more sophisticated. Future UNAIR’s Accountant skills have also been more updated,” she revealed. (*)
