UNAIR FEB Professor named among world’s 100 best researchers

UNAIR NEWS – Another proudest achievement came from the academic of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). Prof. Badri Munir Sukoco, SE. MBA. PhD., Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNAIR is listed as the World Top 100 Business &Management Scientists 2022. Recorded on the AD Scientific Index, his works have been cited by other academics 1650 times with an H-index of 18.

“I feel very grateful. What I have done since 2004 has gotten appreciations, read, and used as a reference by many people,” said Prof. Badri.

The FEB Professor revealed that the research he conducted focused on strategic management. Until 2010, the focus was on brand community. However, he has focused more on process strategy management in the last six years. It is about strategies that can improve the performance of an organization.

“I often talk about the dynamic capabilities of the organization. Organizations cannot respond with habits in making changes, it must change rapidly. My focus is the middle manager,” he explained.

He added, as a mediator, the middle manager must have the ability to make changes and translate the leader’s vision well so that the middle manager can give confidence to his subordinates about the change. His research was done in universities and hospitals, municipal governments, provincial governments, and major media.

“I also have an interest in discussing how Indonesia can become a developed country in 2045. However, I discussed that more in popular articles that are accessible to the wider community,” he added.

The UNAIR Postgraduate Director also revealed that he is currently writing a book about Indonesia that must be transformed into a developed country by 2045. According to him, as a scientist, he is obliged to make Indonesia aware that changes are needed, especially in the HR, technology, and innovation sectors.

Furthermore, Prof. Badri also published economic and business textbooks together with Airlangga Publisher. By adapting the existing concept and applying the events in Indonesia, he hopes that the book can be useful.

“In the future, I will still focus on strategic management research, particularly in transformative leadership and organizations. I want to continue to be useful to others and inspire the nation. As a lecturer, I have the privilege of sharing the knowledge I gained. God willing, it can be useful insight and become an unbroken good deed,” he concluded. (*)
