UNAIR NEWS – Student Activity Unit (UKM) Reasoning Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) won the scientific writing competition. They won as the winner and the best paper in a national scientific writing competition on Friday, October 18.
The competition was held by Research and Reasoning Student Scientific Creativity Institute (LKIM-PENA), Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, raised the theme of “NET Generation in Facing Global Challenges”. Diva Betary, Management Study Program; Abdufattah Yuarianta, Biomedical Engineering Study Program; and Kirtiana Ba’yanur, Chemistry Study Program.
In the competition, they focused on technology sub-theme of climate change impact on community productivity. “Erratic weather changes have resulted in decreased productivity at work. If the productivity goes down, the income goes down too, “said one of the team members.
“The main problem is the distance between the residents is far away from each other, and Indonesia has uncertain weather changes. Therefore, we make a weather detector, “explained Faculty of Economics and Business student.
The idea successfully outperformed 17 finalist teams from other universities as well. The member gained insight during the series of competition.
“We learned new things and gained research ideas. Moreover, we also learned different culture “she said.
Diva said that it took a long time to make it. “In the future, there will be an improvement and we need a long time in making the product,” he concluded. (*)
