PSDKU Tapak Suci Ready to Preserve Culture and Go Global

UNAIR NEWS – As one of the largest pencak silat school in Indonesia, Tapak Suci has spread to various parts of archipelago and several countries in Asia and Europe. In Indonesia, Tapak Suci is taught to children, adults, and older generations.

Since Off Main Campus Study Program (PSDKU) Universitas Airlangga Banyuwangi has been established, it has established a Community of Interest and Talent (Komikat), one of them is the Komikat Tapak Suci. In his journey, Tapak Suci of PSDKU UNAIR Banyuwangi has a vision of “Creating Young Generation which is Conducive to Enforce Amar Ma’ ruf Nahi Mungkar“.

In 2019, the Tapak Suci PSDKU UNAIR Banyuwangi is led by Sandi Aminullah and Suci Mardiana Sang Jaya Putri. To UNAIR NEWS on Monday, March 25, Mardiana said that there were three excellent programs that would be targeted in 2019. It was a routine exercise on Mondays and Fridays, level tests, and Airlangga Cup.

“The Tapak Suci activities held in 2019 are expected to be able to develop the martial arts skills of the younger generation,” she explained.

Furthermore, she continued, Tapak Suci PSDKU UNAIR Banyuwangi Committee also had several divisions such as Communication, Information and Public Relations, Facilities and Infrastructure, Activity and Achievement, and the Regeneration.

“With that, we also want to take part in the preservation of local wisdom based on pencak silat as a heritage of national culture, as well as to prepare athletes with national and international achievements,” said Mardiana.
