UNAIR NEWS – Airlangga Education Expo (AEE) 2019 presented 2 alumni at Oustanding Alumni Talkshow of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). The two speaker are the real witnesses of how the learning process in UNAIR can be successful in their fields.

The first person, Prigi Arisandi, Biology alumnus batch 1994 who successfully became a global environmental activist. In addition, there was Drs. Ec. Putut Sri Muljanto, M.M., alumnae of Management batch 1987 as Director of Operations and Commercial in PT Pelindo III. At the beginning, these two alumni talked about their past stories when they were students.

“We don’t have Gojek back then, so you had to take public transportation. I live in Gresik, thus I have to take several public transportation to get to UNAIR.” said Prigi.

In contrast to Putut, he explained there were only 90 students and those who got GPA 3 were less than 5 people back then. “I got a lot of insight as provision for professional world, “said Putut.

The things that he always remember are making decisions, thinking positively, and staying humble. Furthermore, Prigi said that he had also been advised by his lecturer during his time in university that we must interact and care about our environment. There was question for the two alumni regarding to the differences between the past and present generations.

“In the past, we can only interact with people around the campus while now social media help us to approach wider community, thus we have to be wise in using it” explained Putut.

According to Prigi, we have to be grateful because we can access internet easily.

“Be Unique and different are important, because you are unique and special,” said Prigi.
