UNAIR NEWS – Three new sports fields are now owned by Universitas Airlangga. The inauguration of sports fields was marked by cutting tumpeng rice feast which was followed by several UNAIR leaders, lecturers, and educational staff on Tuesday, 5 February at Campus C area of Universitas Airlangga.
In addition, the inauguration of the sports field was also enlivened by competition followed by all of UNAIR academics. There are three fields that were successfully built by UNAIR, futsal courts, basketball courts, and tennis courts.
In the inauguration event, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., M.T., Ak., CMA appealed to jointly mark the use of the three sports fields by conducted joint sports activities. Prof. Nasih also gave appreciation to all of people who took the time to inaugurate the sports field.
“Thank you for the incredible enthusiasm this morning,” he added.

With a high enthusiasm, continued Prof. Nasih, there is a possibility that Airlangga futsal league will be held for employees and educators every weekend. Furthermore, each of faculty or unit can be unified.
“It’s not just futsal, but maybe it could be for basketball or tennis too,” he added.
Prof. Nasih also emphasized that every faculty or unit must send its delegation because the activity is an action to bring all of the staff closer. In addition, participants should play fair and honest towards their opponents.
“Hopefully this field can provide benefits for us, especially for our beloved Universitas Airlangga almamater,” he added.
The activity was continued with cutting Tumpeng rice by Rector accompanied by Vice Rector of UNAIR. Symbolically, Rector of Universitas Airlangga gave it to one of UNAIR staff.
In this event, participants competed until preliminary round. Furthermore, the next round will be held on 24 February.
