CoSCI International Conference Promotes Collaboration of Academic Community with Industrial Sector

UNAIR NEWS – Collaboration between academic community and industrial sector is a must because with this collaboration, research and innovation developed from the academic community can be realized through the industrial sector so it can be useful for the public.

To support this cause, Universitas Airlangga with several institutions held “The 23rd Seminar and 12th Congress of Indonesia Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Conjunction with The 2nd International Conference”. The activity was focused on “Collaboration Seminar of Chemistry and Industry (CoSCI) was held in Garuda Mukti Hall, Campus C UNAIR, Thursday, October 11.

Present to represent the chancellor, Vice Chancellor I UNAIR Prof. Djoko Santoso, dr., Ph.D., Sp.PD., K-GH., FINASIM. In his speech, Prof. Djoko said that the international level meeting was held to create innovation for the world of education and industry. Both sectors must join hands to improve products needed by the community and customers.

“If all can collaborate, then extraordinary innovation will be created for the benefit of the people,” he said.

Furthermore, in the event that will be held for the next two days, Prof. Djoko appealed to all participants to be sensitive to the surrounding conditions in this millennial era. He hoped that there will be a transfer of knowledge between research and practice in the industrial sector.

“We hope all support each other between publications, research, and practice in the field so a very good thing can be created,” he explained.

Meanwhile, added a statement by Prof. Djoko, as one of the people in charge of the event Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, Dra., M.Si., said that the international conference was a good opportunity for actors in the academic community and industrial sector to exchange views. Therefore, Prof. Nyoman hoped that this activity can be a moment for sharing and discussion towards the development of biochemistry and molecular biology in Indonesia.

“And hopefully this event can be a bridge to promote collaboration between universities and the industrial sector,” he said.
