UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga Library held another Meet the Author event on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Wiyata Room, 1st floor, Campus B Library, Universitas Airlangga. A lecturer of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga Dr. Tri Siwi Agustina SE., M.Si., has published another book on entrepreneurship. Her fourth book was titled ”Kewirausahaan di Era Revolusi Industri 4.0 (Entrepreneurship in Industrial Revolution”.

Motivated by developing entrepreneurship in the digital era, Siwi presents her knowledge on entrepreneurship in her fourth book. She points out business opportunities people can explore in this digital era.

She presents an example in each chapter. It was taken from her experience in real life. She also provides the information she acquired as a part of Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center (PPKK), which runs student entrepreneurial programs.

”I wrote this book for all elements, especially students,” she stated.

”In FEB, this book is used as a textbook of four courses in four semesters,” he added.

According to Siwi, it is a good book for lecturers, students, the millennial generation who start businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises (UKM) and policymakers.

For small and medium-sized enterprises, there is a particular chapter discussing Canvas Business Model, which gains more popularity day by day but has not used by UKM practitioners.

There are eleven chapters in her book, which she compiled for three weeks. The chapters are Entrepreneurship in the Revolution 4.0, Character, Motivation and the Making of Entrepreneurs, Thinking Creatively and Critically, Thinking Innovatively, Business Ideas and Opportunities, Kowing the Business Risk, UMKM Go Online; Fintech Innovation as Financial Solution for UMKM; Mompreneur and Woman Entrepreneur, Business Plan, and Canvas Business Model. Each chapter is expected to inspire creativity and innovation in entrepreneurship.

The entrepreneurial theory known as Push and Pull is also discussed in the book. During meet the author event, Siwi explained that to be entrepreneurs, family background is not that important. Business instinct can be honed early on, and it should be followed with the willingness to take a risk, great leadership, and supportive environments.

”Intention to be entrepreneurs are not only built in family, but business instinct should also be developed to improve entrepreneurship skill,” she stated. (*)
