UNAIR NEWS –Ramadan is here to greet Muslims all over the world. As a form of gratitude and happiness in welcoming this blessed holy month, Islamic Spirituality Student Activity Unit (UKMKI) held Ramadan Mubarak Airlangga (RMA) 2019.
RMA is a routine agenda of UKMKI. It organizes a series of activities during Ramadan. RMA 2019 was started with a Grand Opening (GO) on Saturday, May 5, 2019 at Ulul Azmi Mosque Campus C UNAIR.
Different from last year’s RMA, the opening of this RMA was conducted in a touring with bikers from Campus B to Campus C by UKMKI and Islamic Spirituality (SKI) division of all faculties in UNAIR.
There was a Nasheed performance, Islamic studies, and an inspiring talk show with Yuki Pas Band and Ustad Aditya Abdurrahman.
Head of the RMA 2019 committee, Iswandi said, this year’s RMA was themed “Building an Intellectual Rabbani Generation in Realizing National Unity”. It was based on the condition of Muslims, especially in Indonesia due to 2019 political turmoil.
“We hope that RMA can knit things back together in a frame of unity,” he said.
He also stated that fasting month should not be used as an excuse for anyone to laze around. Therefore, the presence of the RMA can be productive activities for students in Ramadan.
“The goal of the RMA itself is to enliven Ramadan in UNAIR. We don’t want it to be ordinary. With RMA, we hope that there will be useful activities for students to be productive in fasting month, “explained Iswandi.
