Pakistan Ambassador Gives Guest Lecture in FISIP UNAIR

UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Airlangga should be proud because Pakistan Ambassador to Republic of Indonesia H.E Abdul Salik Khan visited UNAIR and gave guest lectures to students.

Located at Adi Sukadana Room FISIP UNAIR on Wednesday February, 20 with the theme of “History of Kashmir Conflict, Present Situation and Future Prospects”. The guest lecture was a series of events held by Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE).

In addition to guest lectures, the arrival of Pakistan Ambassador to Indonesia was part of the continuation of bilateral relations between the two countries, the Republic of Indonesia and Pakistan. Especially in the realm of education. Evidently, not a few foreign students from Pakistan are currently studying at Universitas Airlangga.

“It is an honor for us to welcome the arrival of H. Abdul Salik Khan during his visit to FISIP UNAIR as guest lecture. Hopefully, this can strengthen the relations between Indonesia, especially UNAIR and Pakistan. Furthermore, many of our inbound students also come from Pakistan” explained Dean of FISIP UNAIR Dr. Falih Suaedi, Drs., M.Si.

After remarks from Dean of FISIP, Dr. Falih Suaedi, Drs., M.Si., the activity was continued with a lecture from H.E. Abdul Salik Khan. Not only from International Relations student in FISIP UNAIR, it was attended by public students.

With a brief introduction about geography of Pakistan, H.E. Abdul Salik Khan explained the history of the conflict in one state, precisely Kashmir.

Pakistan’s strategy in dealing with conflicts in Kashmir was the theme of further discussion by H.E Abdul Salik Khan. Not only that, he also talked on economic problems in Yemen.

The guest lecture was increasingly interactive when question and answer session took place. Several questions were asked in discussion sessions that showed interest and concern from UNAIR students. Especially about the Kashmir conflict and bilateral relations between Indonesia and Pakistan.

“You are the future leader of Indonesia if you put attentions of each other on relationship,” a message from H.E. Abdul Salik Khan as guest lecture participants at FISIP UNAIR.

The event was closed by giving token appreciation from UNAIR representatives for Pakistan Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Abdul Salik Khan. Furthermore, the activity ended with a photo session with guest lecture participants. (*)
