The Fun bike route was from campus C to campus B and campus A and then the participants returned to campus C. Some UNAIR leaders such as UNAIR Vice Rector IV Junaidi Khotib, Ph.D., also attended the event and responded positively to the new facility. According to him, cycling can be an integral part of improving quality of a healthy life.

“It can also be part of reducing pollution, making the campus greener and of course the campus will become more friendly place,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Director of Facilities and Infrastructure of UNAIR Karnaji S. Sos, M.Si., on the same occasion hoped that cycling can be a new habit in UNAIR environment. In the future, he continued, the number of campus bikes will be increased.

Regarding the use of campus bikes, Karnaji explained that for Campus B UNAIR, bikes will be provided at several points. One of them is security post near Dharmawangsa exit for example.

“So students who live in Kertajaya area or Airlangga can use this bicycle when they head to the campus, to FISIP, FIB or Faculty of Psychology,” he explained.

As for Campus C UNAIR area, students can use bikes which will be stationed at the main entrance of the campus, the entrance near campus bus garage, men’s dormitory, and women’s dormitory. Later, Karnaji continued, students can use the bikes to go to faculties which are quite far.

“Hopefully the cycling habit can be part of the daily life of UNAIR academics,” he concluded.
