UNAIR NEWS – After holding the Joint State University Entrance Selection (SBMPTN), Universitas Airlangga provides an opportunity for the best students who have not succeeded in passing the SNMPTN and SBMPTN pathways to take part in the Independent admission selection.  UNAIR Independent admission selection will take place from June 26 to June 30, 2021.

On the second day of exams, June 27, UNAIR Rector, Prof. Moh. Nasih, with the leadership ranks, inspected the process of the exam. The selection attended by more than 10,000 participants went well and smoothly.

“Thank God, in the Independent selection this time, the number of registrants was very high. It means the competition is very tight. Considering from more than ten thousand registrants, we can only accept three thousand,” said Prof. Nasih in front of the press at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) Campus C Building.

Furthermore, on that occasion, Prof. Nasih also emphasized that participants and exam supervisors also applied strict health protocols, from test preparation to the exam. Independent admission exam participants, he added, are required to show a COVID-19 free certificate.

“The rising Covid-19 cases during the Independent admission exam this time was indeed unpredictable. We predicted the condition of covid-19 is the same as during the SBMPTN. However, we are ready to anticipate it, so there will be no cases of transmission in the exam process this time,” he explained.

At the end, Prof. Nasih also explained that in the Independent admission exam, UNAIR provided an opportunity for participants with Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) College to register for free. If they are declared accepted from this selection, the KIP K registrants will also study for free.

“In principle, although the Independent exam is also attended by KIP K registrants, regular students and KIP-K holders have the same opportunity to be part of UNAIR,” he said. “We filter or select from best scores results of the participants,” he concluded.
