UNAIR NEWS – Alumni has become important asset for an educational institution. For this reason, Universitas Airlangga continues to hold alumni gathering activities in various regions in Indonesia. This time, Universitas Airlangga Alumni Association (IKA UA) held Alumni Gathering and Inauguration of IKA UA Region of South Sumatra.

Being held at the Horison Ultima Hotel Palembang on October 14, South Sumatra Region IKA UA Alumni Gathering and Inauguration event was attended by dozens of UNAIR alumni from various professions scattered in various regions in South Sumatra.

Vice Rector IV Junaidi Khotib Ph.D., who was also present on behalf UNAIR Rector, said the inauguration was the beginning of an extraordinary dedication for the alma mater and nation. The Japanese graduate doctoral also said that IKA UA administrators in various regions were formed and inaugurated. They were parts of UNAIR to continue providing tangible contributions to the nation’s civilization.

“There are still some regions that have not been sworn in, in the future we will harmonize this determination to make a tangible contribution to this nation and country,” he said.

Regarding the mission of UNAIR to be in Top 500 world class universities, in his remarks, he invited alumni contributions and participation to support target. At present, he added, alumni have helped a lot in physical form, mosques, some infrastructure facilities in the faculty, and Floating Hospital for example, all of which were sourced from alumni funds.

“Alumni must be able to provide a complete picture of values ​​possessed by UNAIR wherever they are. Those who are engaged in their respective fields are ambassadors of Airlangga,” he explained. “Let’s make contribution by applying the academic culture or organization that has been built in UNAIR,” he added.

Before closing the speech, Junaidi said that many ways and things can be done in the future by alumni. One that is very important for today is strengthening communication and networking through social media, either between alumni who have graduated long or just finished their studies.

“We need to move together, because in fact we are in a strong line. Therefore, let’s fight together to build the country through professions and institutions wherever we are, “he concluded.
