Dila, a Faculty of Public Health (FKM) student, won 3rd place for the Women’s Ambassador for Planning Generation (GenRe) of East Java Province in 2021, which was broadcast on youtube on Friday, July 16, 2021.

UNAIR NEWS — Another proudest achievement made by one of Universitas Airlangga’s students. Bektienadila Kusumastuti or Dila, a Faculty of Public Health (FKM) student, won 3rd place for the Women’s Ambassador for Planning Generation (GenRe) of East Java Province in 2021, which was broadcast on Youtube on Friday, July 16, 2021.

The event, held by East Java’s Insan GenRe under the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), aims to create a motivator for young people. Dila never expected to advance to the provincial level selection. Previously, Dila had won 1st place in Tulungagung Regency. “Before joining the GenRe ambassador, I was active in the PIK-R (Youth Information and Communication Center) in my village. The work program that I have until now is Karsa (Karawitan with Youth) for the development of their life skills,” said Dila.

PIK-R is a GenRe program that aims to empower and demand youth to play an active role. GenRe also has a Youth Family Development (BKR) program that aims to educate families on educating and guiding growing-up children.

Dila also shared that her journey to achievement was not easy. There are tears, sadness, tiredness, anger, and joy in it. Moreover, in the sixth semester, she has a busy schedule. However, all of these things paid off well, thanks to her belief to keep trying and moving forward.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. A lot of people would want to be where I am now. You could say I’ve ‘fallen,’ so I have to ‘dive’ and ‘get wet’ at once. I must go all out, regardless of consequences or result. At least, we have tried our best, and we leave the rest to God, “ she said.

She admitted that her mindset was to become an ambassador, not just to follow the competition. Winning is a bonus. However, the point is to take real action, contribute and serve the community. She has to continue her work and inspire many people, especially other teenagers because GenRe Ambassadors “a year assumes title, a lifetime inspires.”

In the future, Dila plans to continue the GenRe program and contribute, serve not only in village areas, districts but in East Java Province. She also hopes that it can be helpful and inspire many people.

At the end, Dila invited teenagers to start planning their future carefully, think creatively and actively. She also advised teenagers to take care of their health to go through 5 life transitions and welcome the demographic bonus of Indonesia Emas. “Remember, planning is cool. Salam GenRe!” she concluded.
