FKG Student Executive Board encourage students to be productive at home

UNAIR NEWS – Covid-19 pandemic has inspired creativity to people in facing it. Some of them include holding competitions, starting challenges, and holding online seminars.

In this regard, UNAIR Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) Student Executive Board (BEM) encouraged all FKG academicians to make effective activities at home to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission. Activities carried out are varied from from challenges, meet ups, competitions among academics, to seminars. The online event can be attended by all FKG UNAIR academic community and alumni.

Ahmad Chasina Aula as the Head of FKG BEM explained that all these activities were their support to comply with physical distancing and at home. So, to maintain productivity and overcome boredom, Stovit Impact, Stalk Challenge and Dentinar programs were born.

“Through these positive activities, we invite all FKG academicians to fight Covid-19 together. This is also an effort to remain productive, educative, and beneficial during this pandemic, “he said on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

Then, continued Sina, adjustments will be made in the future for the continuity. In order to fight this pandemic, the activities carried out as means of providing value and benefits to the community or society in general.

“In addition to meetings, competitions, seminars and challenges, from late March to April, with FKG community members we have given aid to the affected daily workers. The program is implemented in almost all provinces, “he added.

Meanwhile, Naila Mufidah, the chief organizer of Stovit Impact (STOVACT) said that the activity was a manifestation of FKG students’ concern about the lack of public awareness to maintain health and hygiene amid pandemic. So, the FKG BEM held these programs with the aim of educating the public widely.

“The competition between FKG UNAIR community is in the form of educational content creation which can be in the form of photos, videos, posters, and others. The theme is Covid-19 pandemic, participants must include a valid source, ” she explained.

The enthusiasm of FKG community members was extraordinary in the event. In fact, continued Naila, several alumni also participated, this was greatly welcomed by the committee, because it would make improve ties between all classes.

“As young people with high spirits, we must play a role in educating others. Especially about what should be done during a pandemic and maintaining health, therefore let’s be creative to educate,” she said.

These activities indirectly break the transmission chain of the virus and support health protocol campaign through social media with hashtag #dirumahsaja through exciting, current, and creative activities. This is an innovation that can educate effectively.

Sina and Naila, as a young generation, also encouraged students to never get tired of setting good examples and contributing to society. The small steps can be started by thinking creatively and starting campaign on social media. (*)
