UNAIR NEWS – Three students from Universitas Airlangga have just made a national achievement. They are Mohammad Firda Ari sanjaya, Abdurrahman Aziz, and Siti Novita. They are students of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNAIR.

With an idea of developing a digital start-up about  Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) , the team led by Mohmmad Firda Ari Sanjaya successfully crowned second in National Business Plan Competition. The competition held at Sriwijaya University, on Thursday, October 18 was participated by eleven universities that passed the selection to presentation phase.

Ari explained that their innovation was to create a digital start – up for UMKM by applying the integrated platforms concept of website and application.

“Integrated platform or integrated business model is an integrated concept of developing start – up from every service offered. In applying this concept, we integrate the four services offered. Among these SMEs s ervices , MSMEs products , SMEs invest , and SMEs forums, “he explained.

Ari, as the initiator of this business idea, wanted to present his idea in various business competitions in order to get criticism and input from the judges.

“So I can find out which parts need to be improved if I want to realize this start – up for UMKM,” he continued.

However, he admitted that he had some problems when preparing a prototype of the MSME platform in the form of website and application.

“That is because the discipline of team members is from the management department, so we have limitations in preparing the prototype. Then, we try to make the design only from the website and application interface with the help of Photoshop, “he said.

In the future, Ari and his friends intended to submit their business ideas to UNAIR business incubator. Not only that, they also planned to propose the idea in various business competition events to improve the quality of business ideas from various criticisms and suggestions from the judges.

“Of course, by participating in this competition, we can improve our capabilities in terms of presentations in front of the judge, while also having the opportunity to build networking with various delegates from different campuses but have the same vision in bringing the spirit of millennial entrepreneurship,” he concluded. (*)
