Faculty of Vocational Studies collaborates with IPI to implement Higher Education Tri Dharma

UNAIR NEWS  – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) has just signed an agreement with a librarian professional association, the Central Indonesian Librarian Association (IPI). The effort was made in order to apply vocational based learning in professional and industrial world.

The signing session was held on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at UNAIR Faculty of Vocational Studies Building, Leadership Meeting Room. There are some aspects of collaboration contained in the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Faculty of Vocational Studies and the Central Indonesian Librarian Association (IPI) and the East Java IPI.

Dessy Harisanty, S.Sos., M.A. Library Three Year Vocational (D3) Program Coordinator explained that the collaboration will focus on research activities, community service, and improving the quality of human resources, especially in the vocational and library fields.

“This is to facilitate communication and research activities as well as community service, especially in the development of library science,” she said.

Furthermore, Dessy added, the collaboration between Faculty of Vocational Studies and IPI will open opportunities for collaboration in the fields of Higher Education Tri Dharma. This includes making it easier to bring in industry lecturers to provide experience and work practices of vocational students.

Some IPI leaders and representatives attended the event are the General Chairman of Central IPI T. Syamsul Bahri, SH, M.Si and Drs. Hasto Hendarto, MM. as the representative of East Java Regional IPI board.

There was also Vice Dean III of Faculty of Vocational Studies UNAIR Novianto Edi Suharno, SST.Par., M.Si. and the Head of D3 Library Program of Faculty of Vocational Studies, Dessy Harisanty, S.Sos., MA

As additional information, Faculty of Vocational Studies has signed many agreements with some parties. However, the collaboration with the librarian professional association was the first time.

“The signing of this MoA provides many benefits and supports all Higher Education Tri Dharma activities in Universitas Airlangga,” Dessy concluded. (*)
