UNAIR NEWS – 23 candidates of Associate Degree and Applied Bachelor of Health of Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held an Inauguration and Profession Oath Taking on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. The oath-taking was carried out hybrid at the third floor Hall of Faculty of Vocational Studies UNAIR through Zoom Meeting broadcasted live through vokasiunair tv.

Starting the event, Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Studies UNAIR, Prof Dr Anwar Ma’aruf drh M Kes said that inauguration and the profession oath-taking today were from five study programs in the health department.

“Praise be to God that today we could hold the inauguration and profession oath taking from Traditional Healers, Imaging Radiology Technology, Nursing, Veterinary Paramedics and Physiotheraphy,” he mentioned.

The Faculty of Vocational Studies, Anwar continued, tries to produce graduates and applied bachelors of medical sciences following the standard of curriculum competence of each study program. One thing carried out by the Faculty of Vocational Studies is to impose a curriculum of at least 60 percent practicum directly for prospective associates and applied scholars.

“The Faculty of Vocational Studies is perhaps different from academic faculties. This is what we must distinguish. Because to implement a minimum of 60 percent learning, the alumni are expected to be skilled and ready to work,” he revealed.

Following the faculty’s motto that Center for Excellent Human Resources, Ready to Work, Faculty of Vocational Studies will constantly strive as much as possible to produce graduates already working or ready to work even before graduation.

“Even though not many, but now there are quite a few of alumni that are already working before they were graduated,” he continued.

As UNAIR Rector suggested, Anwar said, the Faculty of Vocational Studies should not be a place where alumni are not working. But on the contrary, the Faculty of Vocational Studies alumni are alumni ready to work and create jobs.

In addition, the Faculty of Vocational Studies has expanded networking with industries, both the business world and the professional world. The more networks established, the more Faculty of Vocational Studies could give a promising opportunity for the students to improve their skills.

“This is what we currently support and encourage to always be carried out continuously to provide excellent human resource according to the Faculty of Vocational Studies’ tagline,” he concluded.
