News site of Universitas Airlangga wins Silver Winner at 2020 Public Relations Indonesia Awards

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga’s online news portal won the silver winner from PR Indonesia. The award was announced on Monday, 20 April 2020. This achievement was the second award in 2020 obtained by UNAIR NEWS media after last February its magazine, Majalah Universitas Airlangga, managed to get a Silver Winner from the Press Company Union (SPS) for state higher education (PTN) magazines.

The award was scheduled to be done in Semarang in early April. However, given the Covid-19 pandemic, the award was announced through YouTube PR INDONESIA Magazine or online.

PR Indonesia Founder and CEO Asmono Wikan in his remarks said that in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic, communication was very important. “Today we are experiencing a severe crisis because of the global pandemic of Covid-19. In a situation like this, communication becomes important meaning, enlightening communication, giving hope to the public to rise up quickly, “said Asmono.

He also gave appreciation and congratulations to the winners of PRIA. “Congratulations on winning this competition. Hopefully your communication works will bring great benefits to the community, “he said.

Meanwhile, responding to the award, the Head of UNAIR’s Center for Information and Public Relations (PIH) Dr. Suko Widodo expressed his gratitude to all parties, especially all academicians of UNAR. Both leadership, professors, lecturers, and students.

“The activeness of the campus in responding to all the problems that occur in the community is very important to do. One of them is through the delivery of scientific-based information from the academicians, “he said.

“It became part of the implementation of higher education Tri Darma. Especially in the field of education and community service, “he added.

There are ten categories in the competition held by PR Indonesia including Owned Media, Digital Channels, PR Programs, CSR Programs, Crisis Management, Public Relations Governance Manual (guidelines), Department of Public Relations, Brand Visual Identity, and Annual Report category.

All of these categories use a judging based assessment, where the judges consists of PR and CSR experts, PR consultants / agencies, PR association / organization figures, senior journalists and photographers, design and branding experts, and social media experts. Meanwhile, the judging took place from 25 February to 5 March.
