UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has held its September graduation ceremony. On Saturday, September 18, 2021, UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih, S.E., M.T., Ak conferred all degrees to 1,290 out of a total of 2,583 graduates. In the hybrid graduation ceremony, Prof. Nasih expressed his high hopes for UNAIR graduates in the community in the future.

In his remarks, Prof. Nasih reminded us that graduation is not the end of everything. Graduation is the beginning of the real-life process. After a process of guidance and assistance in a limited environment, the students must be ready to start their real lives.

“After this graduation, there will be no more guidance and knowledge from lecturers or classes that we enjoy. However, with all the provisions from UNAIR, we believe that you will all be able to continue to foster creativity and innovation out there,” he said.

Prof. Nasih believed that UNAIR graduates would survive and continue to work even amid the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. The principles of humble, excellent, brave, agile, and transcendent are expected to be upheld by graduates.

Furthermore, UNAIR has made another international achievement. UNAIR has been ranked 4th in Indonesia along with other universities according to the Times Higher Education, even though it was the first time for UNAIR to participate in the assessment. Through this achievement, graduates are expected to increase their confidence in the competitive world of work.

Therefore, Prof. Nasih encouraged graduates to continue to work hard, work smart, and continue to learn in order to be able to contribute to the alma mater, nation, and country. Finally, graduates must also continue to remember God as the most important aspect of life.

“Continue to contribute, be meaningful, and useful because the best humans are the ones who are useful for the lives of other humans. Let’s be an important part of human civilization together,” he concluded.

The graduation on Saturday, September 18, 2021, was the first day of graduation for bachelor, master, doctoral, and vocational degrees. Meanwhile, the second day of graduation was held on Sunday, September 19, 2021. (*)
