UNAIR Medical Specialists inaugurated online and offline

UNAIR NEWS – A total of 84 medical specialists and subspecialists FK UNAIR / RSUD dr. Soetomo Surabaya from batch 136 were inaugurated on Wednesday, March 24. Unlike the previous inaugurations, these activity was held online and offline.

The doctors were from 21 programs. There are 79 people from 18 Specialist I programs and 5 people from three Specialist II programs. 46 doctors attended the session offline, the rest, 38 people, attended the event online.

”We’d like to express our gratitude to the patients. The doctor’s diploma that we get is the starting point for a dedication to life that is more meaningful in the eyes of the community, ” said Langgeng Gunariadi, dr., Sp.KFR, M.Ked.Klin on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.

The physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist was quite emotional when he delivered his remarks at the Specialist Inauguration Ceremony at the Hall of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Surabaya. The winner of second place in the 2019 PIT Perdosri poster competition was named as alumni representative.

In addition to Langgeng, who comes from the military, Maria Meilita, dr. Sp.B, M.Ked.Klin, the best graduate of the national surgical profession exam on March 7 was also inaugurated. The mother of a child wearing a beige kebaya combined with red brocade was also the 3rd winner of a poster presentation at the Indonesian Surgeons Conference (MABI) XXI in Makassar on July 18-22 2018. There was also the youngest specialist, who is only 29 years old, Juanita Heidy Saputri dr., Sp.PD. attending the inauguration online.

“This is the first time the inauguration of medical specialist done in a combination method of online and offline. We are sorry that there was a bit of network problem, ” said the Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Airlangga Prof. Dr. Budi Santoso, dr. Sp.OG (K) in his speech.

The obstetrics and gynecology specialist also expressed his hope that the doctors will continue to contribute, especially in health sector, continue to learn to face the challenges of the times, and continue to work with the best science. Thus, they continue to benefit others.

The event, which lasts about 90 minutes, followed strict health protocols. All those attending at FK Unair Hall wore masks and face shields, maintained safe distance, and did not shake hands when handing over their diplomas. The event ended with a photo session.
