UNAIR NEWS – World University Association for Community Development (WUACD) Universitas Airlangga has held The International Online Summit of WUACD 2020. Virtually held on December 22, 2020, Kirklareli University volunteered to host the Summit. The theme of the 2020 summit was about the planning for collaborative community service activities in 2021 pandemic era.
The Summit started with a workshop on “The Role of Higher Education in the form of Community Service in Facing the COVID-19 Virus Pandemic”. The workshop speaker was Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Fatih Çömlekçi (Kirklareli University), Dr. Osman Gazi Güçlütürk (Kirklareli University), Dr. Agus Harianto, Sp.B (Universitas Airlangga), Assoc. Prof. Denis Ibadula (Ovidius University Romania), and Assoc. Prof. Cordelia Mason (Universiti Kuala Lumpur). The workshop was a forum for sharing experiences and knowledge on how universities play a role in the pandemic era.
After that, a discussion forum regarding the collaboration program was held. The forum was opened by Kirklareli University, represented by Prof. Neziha Musaoğlu and Universitas Airlangga, led by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih and Prof. Dr. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto. In the end of the event, each participant received a ‘tree’ certificate. The certificate is a form of collaboration between Kirklareli University and the Turkish Ministry of Forestry and Agriculture, which means that for one certificate, ten trees will be planted in Turkey on behalf of participants who attended The International Summit of WUACD 2020.
