UNAIR NEWS – Creative video from UNAIR addressing climate change has won an award in a conference and exhibition event of Higher Education in Asia Pacific, QS APPLE 2020. The Creative Awards event was held virtually on Friday, November 27, 2020.

UNAIR has won the Gold Award for Most Creative Corporate Institution Video, while Dankook University Korea won the Silver Award, and IPB University won the Bronze Award.

The 4 minute and 25 second video encourage youth community to take action and play their parts in preserving the nature. The judging phase is conducted by a team of UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Dr. Suko Widodo, Drs., M.Si as the executive producer of the video said that the idea for the video, Sometime in the Future, was inspired by the poor state of the nature. In Suko’s opinion, humans, especially youth, must deliver a message to the future, as well as make an apology, as they did not prepare the future generation’s life well.

“This video is full of satire and criticisms to the policymakers. Not only the governments but also the industry and communities,” explained Suko.

In the making of the video, Suko’s team was supported by Badri Munir Sukoco, PhD, Alifian Sukma, Hedy Dyah Syahputri, Joko Susanto, and Redo Nomadore. The video was judged based on concept, story, content and execution. The visual quality, sound and editing were also considered as supporting scores.
