UNAIR NEWS – After completing the process of selecting new leaderships in Universitas Airlangga, UNAIR Rector, in this case, through the Planning and Development Board (BPP) held a leadership working meeting. Being held at Garuda Mukti Hall and AMERTA Hall Campus C UNAIR on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, the meeting was attended by UNAIR leaderships for 2020 – 2025 by implementing strict health protocols.

Presenting many speakers from various external institutions and agencies, the event was opened by UNAIR Rector Prof. Nasih. In his opening remarks, Prof. Nasih said that even in a pandemic condition, he expects all leaders to coordinate effectively. The event carried out, he said, was a reminder and a provision to carry out their duties in the next five years.

“This is a reflection for us as leaders who are given the mandates. The material given is not only for the dean and all levels of leadership, but also for the individuals outside the position they are assigned to, “said Prof. Nasih.

Furthermore, the rector who served for the second term also said that all leaders are in a new period. The awareness to understand the new period, he continued, is very important.

“Because the periods are different, the situation is also different. Therefore, we want to remind you that past successes should not make us complacent. Let’s set a vision for the future where the challenges and orientations are different. Therefore, we need a new attitude in order to achieve the goals we set, “he explained.

Things we need to emphasize, continued Prof. Nasih, was that everyone there is a leader. Not just any leaders, all of them are leaders in academic institution. It is indeed different from leaders in general, because this mandate is an additional task.

“Our main task is as academics. Thus, the function as an academic must be maintained and used as well as possible, “he concluded.
