UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held the second day graduation ceremony for 1348 graduands online for the September 2020 Period. Being held on Sunday, September 20, 2020, this online graduation was divided into two sessions for undergraduate (S1), master (S2), doctorate (S3), and also three and four year vocational programs (D3-D4).

On the occasion, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih, SE., MT., Ak. congratulated and welcomed the graduates to join in the struggle and contribution of the big family of UNAIR alumni. Prof. Nasih did not forget to motivate graduates to move forward even though they are experiencing a different situation and conditions than usual.

“Today is an unusual day. Through online graduation, we cannot gather together under one roof. But remember, this uniqueness and unfamiliarity will become a distinctive note in your life, “he said.

Prof. Nasih reminded that after the graduation, UNAIR graduates will immediately become part of the community. The community will be judges who assess the success of the graduates in practicing their knowledge after college. The rapidly changing situation and climate among workforces make them put in more hard work.

In this regard, Prof. Nasih provided three important keys for graduates to contribute to society. First, UNAIR graduates must have an optimistic nature and attitude about their skills. “UNAIR is a respected university. We are in the top four nationwide and in the top 20 in Southeast Asia. And now UNAIR has guaranteed the quality of your skills, so use it as the basis for optimism and confidence, “said Prof. Nasih.

Second, he urged graduates to get out of their comfort zone, activities, and routine habits. To struggle, graduates must start thinking critically, innovatively, and get out of the ‘box of confinement’. In the end, Prof. Nasih invited the graduates to congregate and walk together with the big family of UNAIR alumni in building national and international civilization.

“You will soon face new tests in ‘the campus of life’. Keep moving. Show that you are chosen individuals, continue to move to interpret life and serve the community. Your movement is very meaningful to show the value of this alma mater, “he concluded.
