Improving healthy lifestyle behavior of Cerme Gresik community, FKp UNAIR holds health campaign

UNAIR NEWS – Along with the month of evaluation on Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) Faculty of Nursing Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held community service in Kandangan Village, Gresik Regency, East Java on Saturday, September 12. The activity was entitled “PERISAI” (Healthy Behavior Self Anticipation), which was presented by Ni Ketut Alit Armini, S.Kp., M.Kes., And Dr. Mira Triharini, S.Kp., M.Kep., as well as six students from Faculty of Nursing UNAIR.

In this activity, the Head of Kandangan Village opened the event accompanied by the Head of PKK and attended by local residents. The community service aims to improve healthy behavior in self-anticipation during a pandemic. The event is included with socialization, demonstrations, and questions and answers session.

“The material presented was the adaptation of new habits to Covid-19 pandemic, clean and healthy living habits (PHBS), environment-based diseases, and demonstrations on how to wash hands and wear masks properly,” said her.

The activity takes place by implementing health protocols, namely by checking body temperature with a thermo gun, cleaning hands with a hand sanitizer, maintaining distance, and avoiding physical contact with other participants.

Ni Ketut Alit Armini, S.Kp., M.Kes. explained that the new adaptations to the Covid-19 pandemic situation are using masks, washing hands frequently with soap and running water, using hand sanitizers, avoiding crowds, maintaining distance, getting enough rest, and eating nutritious food.

“Students carry out a campaign by wearing the right way of using a mask and washing their hands with soap,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mira Triharini, S.Kp., M.Kep also explained 10 PHBS arrangements and various diseases such as diarrhea, upper respiratory tract infections (ISPA), tuberculosis, dengue fever, intestinal worms, and others.

Then the activity was continued with a question and answer session and closed by door prize session for the participant. The entire series of activities applied to the health protocols.

In this activity, community service participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the activity. Several local residents also answer the questions correctly given by the event committee.

Hopefully, the local residents can apply a new adaptation system by maintaining a clean and healthy lifestyle and maintaining an optimal environment to avoid various diseases. Besides, participants can also share information and can influence people around them to encourage healthy lifestyle.
