Rector emphasizes Excellence with Morality and Learning Spirit amid pandemic

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga has just held the second session inauguration for new students admitted in undergraduate and vocational program. Being held online via zoom, the rector and leaders of Universitas Airlangga inaugurated new students in Room 301 Kahuripan Building Campus C UNAIR on Thursday, September 10, 2020.

On that occasion, UNAIR Rector Prof. Moh. Nasih invited all new students to be grateful for God’s gift of health. Prof. Nasih also congratulated the new students on their achievement being part of the big family of Universitas Airlangga.

“Being part of UNAIR is not of compulsion. Becoming UNAIR student is a serious choice. Therefore, there are consequences that must be faced by UNAIR students. One of them is by following the educational process as well as possible. Do not take it lightly and violate the procedures, “said Prof. Nasih.

Furthermore, Prof. Nasih also emphasized that students should instill Excellence with Morality values. One form of these values is to emphasize aspects of morality in carrying out the educational process. It, he emphasized, must also become an excellent resource in many fields.

“Do not forget that students must also be able to create a strong academic climate and have a clear targets,” said Prof. Nasih.

Furthermore, on this occasion, Prof. Nasih also reminded the importance of paying attention to academic processes and achievements in each semester. For example, credit values and achievements. According to Prof. Nasih, students must reach the predetermined credits and values.

“Don’t forget about this, it can interfere with your education process. If you ignore it, you could prolong your studies or even get expelled, “he said.

In the end, Prof. Nasih discussed the HEBAT values and mentioned UNAIR’s location in the middle of Surabaya. Being located in the city of heroes, Prof. Nasih invited students to have a heroic spirit in their education.

“UNAIR students must be agile so we can win global competition. Let’s be HEBAT (honest-humble, excellent, brave, agile and transcendent) students so that our enthusiasm and struggle in pursuing this education blessed by God and achieve success, “he explained.

Regarding pandemic condition, Prof. Nasih also emphasized that lectures will temporarily be carried out online. Although, he also hopes that the pandemic can end soon and normal learning can be carried out as before.

“Therefore, we enjoy first, the learning process amid this pandemic. Don’t forget to maintain your health and always put on a mask wherever you are,” he concluded.
