UNAIR NEWS – Even amid Covid-19 pandemic situation, these four State Administration (AN) Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNAIR students have stayed productive. In the 3rd Digitalized International Invention Innovation and Design Johor 2020 event, they won the Silver Medal award in social science cluster.

They are Sisilia Adysti, Aisyah Nusa Ramadhana, Yoga Dimas Ananta, and Kristina Bella. They made the achievement last August 2020.

Sisilia Adysti, as the representative of the group, explained that in the competition they offered an innovation called HI-JOB. This innovation is intended to facilitate persons with disabilities in finding and choosing jobs that match their needs and potential.

“HI-JOB features online classes, training, job vacancies and consultation. The goal is to provide persons with disabilities to get a job in the right sector, “said Sisilia on Sunday, September 6, 2020.

Futhermore, HI-JOB also provides a job application feature, so persons with disabilities can immediately apply for a job by filling in the available form.

This innovation stems from the discovery of data on the Ministry of Manpower’s website, that there are 20.9 million people with disabilities at working age group until July 2020. 10.9 million of them have worked, and mostly the informal sector.

The Minister of Manpower as of July 2020 said that the absorption of workers with disabilities was still not optimal. From this problem, Sisilia and her team initiated the idea of making HI-JOB app.

“This application will make it easier for persons with disabilities to find job in the formal sector. Moreover, we have collaborated with various partners, especially the government and public sector institutions, ” she explained.

This innovation is expected to be a solution for the current situation and in the future. Furthermore, hopefully it can become a pilot project that can be recommended to the government and public sector institutions.

Persons with disabilities must also get equality in the sense of justice and it can be done by providing space to demonstrate their competence.

“We’re really glad to participate and take part in the competition. Apart from developing our potential and teamwork, we are very happy because we can gain good reputation for Universitas Airlangga in an international competition, ” she concluded. (*)
