UNAIR NEWS – Covid-19 Pandemic, caused significant changes in people’s behavior patterns. Activities – which are usually carried out face-to-face, are now turning online, including online discussions or seminars. Online discussions and seminars have now become a new habit in the academic community.

In response, 62nd Community Service Program (KKN) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Group 143, held in the village of Alasmalang, Singojuruh Subdistrict, Banyuwangi Regency, also held an online program. On Tuesday, July 14, the group, led by Bintang Jati Pamungkas, managed to hold a national level sharing session event.

Bintang explained that the sharing session was one of KKN programs of his group. The sharing session was about “Scientific Writing and Mendeley’s citation “.

“Actually, this sharing session is our Community Service Program in the field of education, we see a trend of seminars and discussions conducted online, and we try to hold it,” Bintang explained.

Bintang added that the activity was originally intended for PSDKU Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) students, especially for final year students. However, the event unexpectedly received positive responses from the general public.

“Initially this event was only aimed at colleagues at PSDKU Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), but apparently positive responses came from various parties,” added Bintang.

The sharing session with Anak Agung Gde Satia Utama as speaker was eventually attended by participants from all over Indonesia, such as Banten, Makassar, West Nusa Tenggara, and even Papua. Not only from Indonesia, there were also participants from Singapore.

“We thought the excitement of the event was only from participants across Indonesia with various backgrounds, such as lecturers, ministry officials, and students. We were surprised by the attending participants coming from Singapore,” Bintang stated.

The sharing session went smoothly. The program was begun with a prayer and welcoming speech of KKN supervisor. The event then continued with sharing session with a speaker, and ended with a group photo. (*)
