UNAIR NEWS – COVID-19 pandemic requires all community activities to be carried out from home including lecture activities for students. The situation did not stop three Airlangga University (UNAIR) students to remain productive while at home. The three students are Vina Himmatus Sholikhah from the 2018 Faculty of Public Health (FKM), Difa Inggrayuwana from the 2019 Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and Satrio Priyagung from the 2019 Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).

They won First Place in the Nationalism Essay Competition (KEB) held by Pancasila Moral Education and State Citizenship Student Association (HMJ PMP-KN) State University of Surabaya (UNESA). The competition held from Saturday, May 2, 2020 to Saturday, June 13, 2020 was themed “Actualization of Pancasila Values in Preventing and Overcoming the Impact of Covid-19”.

In the competition, they wrote a work on the Covid-19 Internet- based self exam app named ELMON ( Self E-Monitoring ). Vina Himmatus Sholikhah, one of the team members revealed, if the application can monitor Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms without having to go to the hospital so it could reduce the surge of patients.

“This application (ELMON ( Self E-Monitoring ), ed) can monitor Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms without having going to the hospital,” she said.

They took part in the competition because they wanted to give an idea on handling Covid-19 based on Pancasila values. Vina also said that their achievement was of the support from other Reasoning Student Activity Unit (UKM) members.

“So, everyone who wants to join a competition always gets tutoring class, so we were greatly helped by the guidance of expert tutors,” she said on Sunday (06/28/20) when interviewed by the UNAIR NEWS team.

They hope that in the future they can continue to make achievements in the field of writing. Difa Inggrayuwana encouraged other students to achieve what they aspire to be so they can make UNAIR proud. Not much different from Difa, Satrio Priyagung also hoped that other students could be more productive during the pandemic.

“Hopefully the other friends can be more productive even in a pandemic like this,” he concluded. (*)
