UNAIR NEWS – Minister of Research and Technology / Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency Bambang Brodjonegoro announced the 500 best researchers in Indonesia based on 2020 Science and Technology Index (SINTA) on Thursday, May 28, 2020. Based on these data, 2 professors of Faculty of Dental Medicine Universitas Airlangga were included in Top 500 researchers in Indonesia.
Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Narmada, drg., Sp. Ort (K), Professor of Orthodontics who is also the Head of the Orthodontics Department FKG is ranked 188th. Prof. Dr. Diah Savitri Ernawati, drg., M.Si., Sp. PM, Professor of Oral Diseases and Head of the Department of Oral Diseases is ranked 133rd. Both of them are known for their great contribution in terms of scientific publications of Faculty of Dental Medicine.
“Unbelievable. I did not think I could be in the Top 500 best researchers in Indonesia,” said Prof. Narmada.
He said it was thanks to good cooperation and high enthusiasm with fellow academicians so he could achieve that rank. “My target is that all researches under my guidance from S1, specialist, to S3, either with institutions and faculty can be published to SCOPUS journals,” he continued.
Prof. Savitri revealed that the achievement was her dream from long ago. Starting from her imagination, to became one of the best researchers in Universitas Airlangga announced directly by the rector on Indonesian independence day ceremony, Prof. Savitri was determined to be one of them.
“Thank God, this is a blessing, this is a gift, this is a surprise, this is a dream coming true and there is a sense of disbelief that I could be included in the category because at UNAIR, there are many great people included in this category,” Prof Savitri statement after the announcement.
Included in Top 400 best researchers in Indonesia are Dr. Taufan Bramantoro, drg., M. Kes at 361st and Alexander P. Nugraha, drg., M.Imun at 369th. This achievement is expected to motivate other researchers, especially in Universitas Airlangga, to perform better in the future. (*)
