UNAIR NEWS – On 2 June 2020, the University Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT) officially opened the registration for Computer Based Test (UTBK) and State University Entrance Joint Selection (SBMPTN). The registration is opened until June 20, 2020. Then, continued with the UTBK implementation from July 5 to July 12 and the announcement of SBMPTN on July 25, 2020.

To provide information and direction to the public, Universitas Airlangga Rector Prof. Nasih with Director of Information Systems (DSI) Badrus Zaman, S.Kom., M.Cs., held a discussion via youtube and zoom. Moderated directly by the Head of the Student Admission Center (PMBB) Dr. Ahmad Solihin, a discussion about UTBK and SBMPTN on Tuesday was attended by hundreds of participants.

On that occasion, UNAIR Rector Prof. Nasih opened the discussion by giving direction on the UTBK. Prof.Nasih explained that UTBK SBMPTN registration process had no connection with students’ program choices. For example, even though UTBK Center or the place of UTBK is located at UNAIR, the program chosen by prospective students can be UI, UGM or other universities.

“My first suggestion is related to the current condition, please select UTBK Center closest to your residences,” said Prof. Nasih.

Then, Prof.Nasih also encouraged prospective students to choose programs at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) as it is currently fifth nationally and will strive to be even better. Thus, the choice to UNAIR is very reasonable and certain for prospective students.

Furthermore, UNAIR also provides various programs needed greatly from social to engineering programs. They are also accredited to meet the standards. Majority of the programs are accredited A and some are internationally accredited.

“The registration process is not complicated, only need to open the LTMPT account,” he continued.

In this account, there are also additional documents necessary for the procedure including photos and they are expected to be the latest photos of potential participants. These photo requirements are important because they will speed up the inspection process. Those appear differently from the photo will not be able to take the test.

In contrast to last year, UTBK registration will be done at the same time with the selection of programs. Prospective students’ data on chosen programs are permanent, and cannot be changed. Then, if a prospective student registers incorrectly, it cannot be revised.

Then, Badrus explained that there were three parties involved in the registration process, participants, the Ministry of Education and Culture related to College Study Card, and partner banks for payment.

“All participants will register on the LTMPT website,” Badrus said.

Then, he continued, participants chose the UTBK SBMPTN menu and checked whether they have College Study Card (KIP) or not. If there is, the system will check with the Ministry of Education and Culture database. While the regular registrants need to update their data.

Then, UTBK Center will be chosen for the test. After that, the programs are chosen. In the selection of programs there are two choices, general university and engineering schools. The selection of programs cannot be done across platform. If the first choice is engineering school, the second choice is also engineering school.

“After choosing a program, there will be a procedure to finalize the data so that you will get a payment slip from the system. After making a payment, participants can log in again to print the participant card, “he explained.

There are 30 sessions of UTBK. The test is carried out at the same time according to local time. Every day, UTBK will be held 4 sessions except for Friday, only 2 sessions. The total UTBK center itself is 74, spread throughout Indonesia.

“The special session for the blind is the 10th session on July 7, 2020, the second session and it will be held at 52 UTBK centers,” he continued.

Meanwhile for the physically challenged participants will be placed with regular participants but in an easily accessible location.
