UNAIR NEWS – Indonesian people are having hard time because the spread of Covid-19 outbreak is getting more massive. SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID-19, which first appeared in Wuhan, has now spread to various provinces in Indonesia, including in East Java, April 13, 2020.
Responding to the massive spread of the virus, the academics of Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) gave aid for Covid-19 handling through Social Fund Management Center (Puspas). The aid was given directly by the Dean of FEB UNAIR Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak. to Head of UNAIR Social Fund Management Center Dr. Tika Widiastuti, SE, M.Si.
The donation given by FEB UNAIR was in the form of money and goods. The cash aid was 30 million rupiah and the goods were in the form of 50 surgical mask boxes containing 50 pcs worth 20 million rupiah.
The donation given by FEB UNAIR to Puspas is a form of FEB UNAIRacademics’ concern in COVID-19 handling, especially Universitas Airlangga Hospital (RSUA) as it is one of the referral hospitals recommended by the government in handling COVID-19 outbreaks. FEB UNAIR academics hope that COVID-19 pandemic can end soon.
Dr. Tika Widiastuti, SE, M.Si, Head of the Puspas, revealed that Puspas as a work unit entrusted with, will manage COVID-19 donations as well as possible. In pandemic times like this, all forms of support and attention, both material and non-material, are very meaningful.
“We don’t know when this pandemic will end, so we will manage all forms of donations as best as we can. Hopefully the donation can be useful for RSUA, stakeholders and the community around campus, ” she said.
Tika expressed her gratitude and appreciated the support given by FEB UNAIR. S hoped that what was done by FEB UNAIR academics could be followed by other faculties or other units.
“We should work together, from the university and back to the university and as much as possible benefits for the university,” she concluded.
