Addressing COVID-19, IKA UA Provides Donation to RSUA Medical Personnel

UNAIR NEWS – Alumni Association of Universitas Airlangga (IKA UA) donated to the medical staff at Universitas Airlangga Hospital. PPE donation was given directly by Dr. Akmal Budianto, S.H., M.H, as Head of IKA UA Care COVID-19 Action Task Force.

He explained that PPE is given to support medical staff in handling COVID-19 patients. Besides that, all parties should work together to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Thus, it will be useful and reduce the risk of death.

IKA UA provided 450 bottle hand sanitizers, 12 boxes of N95 3M masks containing 240 pcs, 47 boxes of surgical strap masks containing 850 pcs, and 20 boxes of rubber gloves (gloves) containing 2000 pcs. Besides, they also assisted 4 Thermo gun units, which were handed over directly to the medical staff of Health Service Center (PLK UNAIR) and disinfectants spray at Ulul Mosque’ Azmi UNAIR.

“God willing, there will be more donation so we can help more people. We also thank all those who have entrusted their donations to IKA UA. Hopefully, it can help medical workers in the hospital, “he said.

Previously, IKA UA had also provided PPE equipment, such as 500 hand sanitizer, 100 OK clothes, 62 raincoats, and 100 face shield.

Furthermore, Dr. Nily Sulistyorini, SpF as Head of Public Relations and PKRS RSUA, expressed her gratitude for the support from IKA UA. Currently, PPE is still the most crucial need in handling co-19 at the hospital. She said the donations received were very beneficial for medical personnel to maintain security and safety in providing services to patients.

“In a situation like this, all hospitals experience difficulties in terms of procurement. However, with support from all parties in providing material and non-material to the hospital, it will support the optimization of our services when dealing with patients. “he said.
