UNAIR NEWS – There was an unusual scene during 2020 Airlangga Education Expo (AEE) event on Sunday, February 23. In Universitas Airlangga education exhibition, which opens to all of the high school students, UNAIR Rector Prof. Moh Nasih stated 37 students accepted as student in Universitas Airlangga. Some students are Qoran memorizers and national and international achievements receiver.
In the event, Prof. Moh. Nasih said as many as 37 students received golden ticket. Interestingly, seven of them accepted in Faculty of Medicine (FK) UNAIR.
One of the seven lucky students is Royhan Akbar or often called Roy. He was really happy and could not hold back tears. “Thank God, I got accepted in UNAIR Faculty of Medicine. Thank you for all of the support from my parents, friends, and teachers,” he told UNAIR News.
His struggle to get a golden ticket is not easy. The student from Madura had made various national and international achievements during his time in high school.
Roy became one of Asia Youth United Nations Delegation in Malaysia; Second place winner of National Design and Race. Besides, he was also selected as Second Place Winner in International Robotics Competition in Malaysia; United Nation International Leader delegation in Bangkok, Thailand; Second Place Winner of Badminton Competition; and First Place Winner in Competition of Maritime and Training.
Head of Center for Student Admission (PPMB) UNAIR, Dr. Achmad Solihin S.E., M.Si., explained several requirements to get a golden ticket. First, students have registered for SNMPTN, and don’t forget to bring the SNMPTN identification card. Second, students first choice for SNMPTN should be in UNAIR.
“Student did not necessarily pass verification. Evidence of copies of certificates and SNMPTN participant cards must also be attached, “he said.
Achmad Solihin revealed that all of the selected students should meet the requirements. ” If we check the document and it does not match the document, they will not be accepted in UNAIR, ”he added
Furthermore, there are 69 students accepted in UNAIR and Prof. Moh. Nasih said that it was one of appreciation for UNAIR to outstanding students, both in the field of leadership and academic. (*)
