Collaborating on health sector development, National Brain Center Hospital partner up with UNAIR

UNAIR NEWS – The development of the medical world is one of the important things in improving global health and well-being on the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. The point is carried out by Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) in improving the quality of research and education of health workers. Therefore, National Brain Center Hospital (PON) represented by Prof. Dr. Mahar Marjono Jakarta signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with several Dean Faculty and Representatives of  Dr. Soetomo  Hospital on Monday, 10 February at Plenary Room, UNAIR Management Office Building, Campus C.

UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih SE., MT., Ak at expressed his gratitude for National Brain Center Hospital in trusting UNAIR as a partner. “2019 was a great year for UNAIR. We managed to produce two thousand international journals indexed Scopus. Through cooperation in the field of brain and nerve system, it will add to the experience and quality of our education and research, “said Prof. Nasih

Prof. Nasih revealed that UNAIR has many resources that can be sharpened in the development of education, services and research. Thus, the collaboration will not only have a positive impact on UNAIR but also on the development of the quality of PON Hospital.

On the next occasion, Dr. Murshid Bustami, Sp. S (K). KIC, MARS., as the managing director of PON Hospital revealed that the cooperation would become a progressive step for PON Hospital to develop the quality of their services, education and research. “When it first formed, we were only given one year to grow into a referral center for brain and nerve diseases. Currently, we have dozens of specialist doctors and specialized research buildings. Besides,  we no longer use the state budget for hospital operations in the past two years, “said Dr. Murshid.

Prof. Dr. Mahar Marjono himself received a Platinum Award for his accuracy and quality in handling stroke. Besides, PON Hospital has many technologies and health cases that can be a follow-up to research and treatment. “Aside from being a partner in scientific and technological improvement in specialist doctors and consultants, we see UNAIR has resources and an established Faculty of Medicine. So that this cooperation is expected to improve media quality in Indonesia, “he said. (*)
