Welcoming reaccreditation, FPK UNAIR Banyuwangi redesigned its vision and missions

UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (FPK) Off Main Campus Program (PSDKU) Universitas Airlangga continues to improve the quality of teaching. One of the efforts is redesigning the vision and mission as a follow-up to the end of the implemented vision and mission.

The event was held on Tuesday, January 28, in the meeting room of PSDKU UNAIR Banyuwangi. The meeting was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries (FPK) with the Vice Deans, Head of Aquaculture Program, FPK lecturers, and guest from stakeholders in the field of fisheries. Prof. Mirni Lamid as Dean of FPK said that the vision and mission redesign was as an effort to update the mission and vision implemented.

“Challenges in the fisheries business keep occurring every year, so FPK must be prepared with these challenges. One of the efforts is redesigning the vision and missions. So the vision and missions carried out in the future can answer the challenges in the fisheries business, ” she said.

Universitas Airlangga PSDKU Banyuwangi, she added, with all its limitations was able to produce graduates who were able to compete with graduates from various universities in Indonesia. Therefore, improvements continue to be made.

Furthermore, Prayogo, S.Pi., M.P. as the Head of Aquaculture Program FPK said that after obtaining B accreditation by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) in 2017, the Aquaculture Program continues to conduct joint evaluations involving stakeholders to achieve the objectives of FPK Universitas Airlangga PSDKU Banyuwangi.

“The success of higher education cannot be separated from the role of stakeholders in the field of fisheries to improve its quality. The involvement of these stakeholders is a form of cooperation to harmonize the vision and mission that are also expected by stakeholders from university graduates,” he explained.

Prayogo hoped that after the redesigning the vision and mission, the objectives of FPK Universitas Airlangga PSDKU Banyuwangi and stakeholders can be fully achieved. So in the future the university graduates are able to meet global needs, especially in the field of fisheries.
