Representing West Sumatra, FKM Students passed 2020 PON Papua selection

UNAIR NEWS – Indah Helmadi or known as Indah is 2017 student in Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). She has made many achievements, especially in the field of basketball.

Indah mentioned that she and her team passed PON (National Sports Week) selection for Papua 2020 and represented West Sumatra to compete in 3 x 3 basketball category. Before being chosen to compete in2020 PON Papua, there were several pre-PON selection stages held in Jakarta.

“Previously, pre-PON held in Jakarta is one of the selection stages for PON Papua,” said her on Friday, January 24.

PON is a national sports week held every four years, and the participants of this event are athletes from all provinces of Indonesia. Several sports are contested, and basketball is one of sport that included in the competition, and the latest category is 3×3 basketball.

Furthermore, Indah revealed that she had made preparations for 2020 PON in Papua. Especially, physical training and additional training before the competition

“I did preparation by doing a regular training session, and there will be further additional training, “she added.

She plays basketball since she was junior high school, and there are many achievements that she gained, one of which is competing in 2020 PON Papua. Moreover, when Indah was in high school (SMA), she also had been elected in DBL All-Star.

In the end, Indah hopes that she can get a medal at PON Papua 2020 and that she make proud people around her.

“We hope to win this competition and get the gold medal to make proud people around us,” she concluded. (*)
