UNAIR NEWS – The visit of international students to Indonesia is an opportunity to introduce culture in Indonesia. FKM ambassador introduced Surabaya history and culture to Thai students from by inviting them to visit Heroes Monument on Wednesday, December 25.

Nur Sahila said Heroes Monument was one of the agendas carried out in the context of a city tour for international students. The monument was chosen because this place describes the history of Surabaya.

“The heroes monument was chosen because it explained the history of Surabaya, especially the reason why Surabaya was called a city of heroes,” she said on Wednesday, January 15.

There were five Thai students joined the visit to the heroes monument — each of them, named Nnoei, Eye, Pak, Pin and Nicha. The five students were pleased with the visit to the Heroes Monument.

“They (students from Thailand, ed) are excited and happy,” added the 2018 student.

FKM ambassador explained various things to the student from Thailand. One of them is the meaning behind the hero monument. Besides, they took pictures together in that place.

Not only visiting the Heroes Monument, but the plan is also on Saturday, January 18. FKM ambassador with Thai students visited Lamongan marine tourism (WBL) and Maharani Cave. In the end, Hila hopes that these activities will be maintained in the future.

“The hope is not only to introduce historical places in the form of museums but also places of historical events such as Dolly lane which used to be the largest prostitution place in Asia, but it has now turned into a creative village of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and a lot of empowerment movement for its citizens, “she concluded.
