UNAIR NEWS – As one of efforts towards Top 500 World Class Universities (WCU) and preparation in opening School of Advanced Technology and Multidisciplinary, UNAIR is exploring collaboration with overseas universities with competencies acknowledged by the international academic community. The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) explores collaboration with UNAIR for joint research, student mobility, and exchanges of PhD students and professors on Thursday, January 9, 2020 in Rector’s Meeting Room 4th Floor, UNAIR Management Office, Campus C.
IIT Delhi is a technology and research institute located in New Delhi, India. It is referred as ‘MIT in India’, IIT Delhi has won 4th place in the world in the development of Unicorn startups and ranked 172 in the world. The university has also collaborated with various renowned universities in Europe.
The meeting was attended by Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, M.Si, and other UNAIR leaderships, Nomesh Bhojkumar Bolia as the National Coordinator for the ASEAN PhD Fellowship Program for ASEAN Students to study at IITs was accompanied by Prof. Sunil Kumar Khare as Professor of Biochemistry and Institute Chair Professor and Ankush Agrawal as assistant professor at the Delhi Institute of Economic Growth.
Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, M.Si expressed her enthusiasm in working together due to the harmonious bilateral relations between Indonesia and India from time to time. Prof. Nyoman explained that UNAIR not only wanted to work together in developing 5 new programs, but also collaboration between academic communities such as nursing and public health. The collaboration, she added, is expected to be carried out in dental field as well because IIT Delhi is developing dental technology that uses nanotechnology.
“We want exchange students not only learn in class but also learn together in the community with our cultural program,” she said
Meanwhile, Nomesh Bhojkumar Bolia said that the potential for collaboration between IIT Delhi and UNAIR was enormous and in the future UNAIR students would come and study at IIT Delhi. The visit to UNAIR, he continued, is expected to expand cooperation in Southeast Asia.
“We have had a very good meeting and the potential for UNAIR collaboration is certainly huge because the focus of the study that will be developed in new UNAIR programs is also the same as our study focus,” he said.
“This collaboration will be carried out in forms of joint research, student mobility, and exchange of PhD students and professors,” he concluded.
