UNAIR NEWS – Year 2019 is over. Many achievements made and things happened in 2019 become an important foundation for better management performance in 2020. For this reason, Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) of Universitas Airlangga held a workshop to map out important programs to improve performance in 2020.

In the Plenary Meeting Room of Campus C, UNAIR, the event was opened by UNAIR Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, M.Si., on Monday, January 6. In her remarks, Prof. Nyoman said that 2020 will bring new challenges for AGE especially in building a global academic climate.

“For this reason, this kind of activity is important in order to organize and map out strategic programs in the future,” she said.

In building a better global academic climate, she continued, Prof. Nyoman emphasized the importance of the existing website. One of the ways for the world to know the institution better is through a better website.

“For this reason, we have partnered with PIH as a strategic partner to support one of these important programs,” she said.

On the occasion, Head of Center for Information and Public Relations (PIH) UNAIR Dr. Suko Widodo, M.Si., was also present to provide an overview of better communication patterns, especially for the management of website. According to Suko, in an erratic era like this, fast and precise adaptation is needed.

“If we cannot adapt to the demands of this rapid age, we will be overwhelmed,” he said. “We are like small fish in the midst of a global vortex, we shouldn’t sink under and become even smaller,” said Suko.

In the end, Suko reiterated that as the main door of global affairs, AGE is expected to to improve UNAIR’s global recognition. That, said Suko, certainly cannot be separated from excellent participation and cooperation of all parties.

“I think, AGE and PIH can have a strong partnership to support this institution,” he stated.
