UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga has held a writing workshop. The workshop focused on opinion writing was attended by around 120 participants, consisting of lecturers, masters and doctoral students, and Airlangga Nursing Journalist team Faculty of Nursing.
There were two speakers in the workshop held on Thursday, December 12, 2019, Jawa Pos Editor of Opinion in Printed Media, Agus Muttaqin and Head of UNAIR Center for Information and Public Relations, Dr. Suko Widodo.
Vice Dean I Faculty of Nursing Dr. Kusnanto S.Kp., M.Kes. said that the writing workshop this time was held to improve the skill of Faculty of Nursing academicians to write scientific articles.
According to him, from various analyzes conducted to date, research activities carried out by students and lecturers still stop at internal community. Therefore, a popular scientific writing is needed so they can be understood by the general public.
“We want the research products useful not only for the researchers, but also for the community, for all people. I think it is beneficial for the community, “Kusnanto said.
According to Kusnanto, there are many lecturers and students researches closely related to public health. Therefore, through this workshop, the participants are expected to write down what they are researching and being consumed by the community so it will have more impact and benefits. “It’s about time the product of research felt directly by our community,” he added.
Finally, Kusnanto hoped, through the workshop all participants can start writing about their research into scientific articles that can be understood by the public. (*)
