UNAIR holds comparative study in EU Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei office

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held a comparative study at EU Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei, Jakarta on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. The activity was attended by twelve students from various faculties, accompanied by three lecturers from Faculty of Law (FH), Faculty of Humanities (FIB), and Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). There were also three administrators of Erasmus + Jean Monnet Module program: European Union in Multidisciplinary Perspective (EU-MAP).

The group was welcomed by Charles-Michel Geurts as Deputy Head of the European Union Delegation to Indonesia. On that occasion, they exchanged ideas on the theme of European Union Integration. Then, the activity continued with a visit to the Study of Global Strategic Studies, University of Indonesia, to discuss in depth about the European Studies.

Irfan Wahyudi S. Sos., M.Comms., PhD, a lecturer at FISIP UNAIR explained that the program was a grant from the European Union Government. It will continue from 2017 to 2020.

“Besides UNAIR, there are other universities in Indonesia that also get grants such as Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University and Indonesian Christian University, ” he explained.

There are five courses offered in the EU-MAP program, European Union Law by the Faculty of Law; Immigration and Public Health by Faculty of Public Health; Social and Culture Perspectives in European Integration by Faculty of Humanities; Doing Business Globally: EU-Indonesia from Multidisciplinary Perspectives by Faculty of Economics and Business; and European Union Politics by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.

“Through this multidisciplinary programs, UNAIR students are expected to gain knowledge about the European Union Study from various perspectives, both economics, law, public health, international relations and cultural sciences,” he concluded. (*)
