UNAIR invited at Rector Conference of Superior University Pakistan

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga represented by Prof. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih as Executive Director of Airlangga Global Engagement Universitas Airlangga attended an invitation of Rector’s Conference held by Superior University, Lahore, Pakistan on November 27-28.

The international conference with the theme of “Transforming Higher-Education Institutes to produce 21st Century Graduates” has many objectives. Among other things, participating in making changes in the fields of education, industry, and government; analyse the alignment of the academic vision of educational institutions with the concept of HEC, and draw up plans to improve the quality of university graduates.

University Airlangga had the opportunity to become one of the panellists and represented by Prof. Nyoman. The session discussed the Best Practices of International Higher Education Systems with a focus on “Universitas Airlangga and its Contribution to the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals”.

On this occasion, Prof. Nyoman as the delegation of UNAIR received positive appreciation from the Governor of Punjab, Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar, regarding the participation of Universitas Airlangga in the international event.

Moreover, Prof. Nyoman also had the opportunity to meet with international Rector and academics staff from various countries. Besides, she met with one of Pakistani students who had participated in CERIA program in 2018 at Universitas Airlangga.

In Pakistan, she also visited several partners to explore cooperation in research and publication. Among others, with Superior University as the host of Rector’s conference; Institute of Administrative Sciences; Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology; University of the Punjab, Lahore.

Furthermore, she was invited as a guest lecture in front of 100 Pakistani students. She explained enzyme technology research to strengthen the competency of student skills.

As one of Professor in Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), she said three strategies in accelerating internationalization education at UNAIR.

“First, all members of the community should participate in Tri Dharma of Higher Education with overseas partners. Secondly, by build an international association WUACD or World University Association for Community Development. Third, build and strengthen the global academic community network, “said Prof. Nyoman.

Through this participation, Universitas Airlangga could strengthens the network with the academic community in the international world. (*)
