UNAIR Strengthens Partnership with King Abdul Aziz University

UNAIR NEWS – After conducting some visits to various universities on the blue continent, the leadership of Universitas Airlangga made another trip to several universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, such as in King Abdul Aziz University and Taibah University which are ready to make some agreements with UNAIR.

To UNAIR NEWS, via a Whatsapp chat on Sunday, October 13, Vice Rector IV Junaidi Khatib Ph.D., said that the first visit was to King Abdul Aziz University. He also said that the visit attended by the Dean of Faculty of Dental Medicine, the Dean of Faculty of Nursing, Vice Dean II of Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Head of Quality Assurance Board was received well by the Dean and leaders of Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry and Faculty of Nursing of King Abdul Azis University.

“The meeting proceeded well in a friendly atmosphere,” he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector III UNAIR Prof. Amin also said that they had given great responses, the meeting was fruitful, the two parties agreed to carry out some activities in a prompt manner. It is started with future international conference coordination, joint research groups with indexed scientific publications, exchanges of staff and graduates of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees with full scholarship schemes, student and staff exchange, and also visiting and adjunct professor programs and guest lectures.

“King Abdul Azis University will give priority to UNAIR to carry out further collaboration,” he said.

Not much different from Prof. Amin ‘s statement, Dean of FKG UNAIR Dr. Darmawan emphasized that it was a special moment. UNAIR can establish good relations with world-class universities at QS 150-200 ranking. Moreover, Dr. Darmawan also said that King Abdul Aziz University has been accredited by Europe and Canada institution, ISI Thompson.

“What makes us most proud, especially for FKG, we were invited to an international seminar which they will hold next week. Then, they are also willing to become give visiting lectures and to attend FKG conference in March 2020, “he said. “At the end of the successful meeting, it was ended with an inspection to the hospital and a lunch,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Vice Dean III Faculty of Economics and Business UNAIR Dr. Nisful Laila on that occasion also established a partnership with Faculty of Economics and Administration King Abdul Aziz University. They had made an agreement for MBA student mobility program with full scholarship team from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“Furthermore, we also agreed on a joint conference event in March 2020 and research collaboration between the researchers from both institution to make publication in ISI or Scopus-indexed journals,” she stated.
