UNAIR NEWS – The achievement won by Student Activity Unit (UKM) Reasoning at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). This time, the one who contributed the achievement was Rona Apriandhini, Physiotherapy batch 2017 Faculty of Vocational Studies. Rona managed to win 3rd place in Scientific Article Competition at the National Congress and Work Meeting of Indonesian Student Research and Reasoning Institute (ILP2MI) held in Bali on 1-2 October.
Rona explained that she never thought of winning the competition. Considering, the preparation she was quite brief because she only intended to fulfil the Congressional invitation from ILP2MI.
“I never thought that I would win as the third-place winner because there was no intention to participate in the competition, I just got the invitation of ILP2MI Conference,” said Rona.
Rona joined the competition with her friend from Universitas Brawijaya (UB), as a team because all of UNAIR students were undergoing midterm exams (UTS) at that time. Thus, the only one who can go to the event is her friend from UB.
“So, I joined the event with one of my friends from UB because all of my UNAIR friends were undergoing midterm exams (UTS). After asking permission to the committee turned out student could be from different universities. Immediately, I invited my friend from UB to join this competition, “said Rona.
Rona revealed that she made articles five days before the competition. Luckily for her, there was an extension of ten days to submit articles.
“The preparation for the article is also quite short. Fortunately, the submission date was extended. So there is a chance for us to improve our articles, “he said.
According to Rona, the key to success is everything must be prepared well, starting from the X banner, prototype, and poster. Although the processing time is quite short, she managed to complete all the supporting equipment for the presentation.
“The essential thing in participating article competition is everything must be well prepared. After you passed the final, you have to present the material, try to have a prototype or x banner or poster to make it more interesting, ” she concluded. (*)
