UNAIR Lecturer Wins Runner Up 2019 Academic Leader

UNAIR NEWS – After a visit to Universitas Airlangga for 2019 Academic Leader last month, the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) on Tuesday, October 1, finally announced the results of 2019 Academic Leader award winners.

At the prestigious annual event, UNAIR was represented by one of the doctors, researchers, as well as lecturers at Faculty of Medicine, UNAIR-RSUD Dr. Soetomo Prof. Dr. Cita Rosita Sigit Prakoeswa, dr., Sp.KK (K), FINSDV., who won the Runner Up for 2019 Academic Leader in Health Sciences. In this regard, Prof. Cita said that the achievement could be achieved thanks to the extraordinary support and prayers from all leaders, fellow lecturers, and the entire innovation team.

“Therefore, I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to all of them,” said Prof. Cita.

Regarding her innovation, Prof. Cita said that the success of innovation or breakthrough is highly dependent on the team working together in a solid and agile mannerAs a lecturer, she continued, the ideas would be based on the Tri Dharma of higher education.

“As doctors, we know about five-star doctors based on WHO criteria; as care providers, decision-makers, communicators, community leaders, and managers,” she said.

Prof. Cita also explained that the innovation she proposed was the development of mesenchymal stem cell secretions as chronic wound healing for leprosy patients and skin rejuvenation as she focuses on being a venereology dermatology specialist.

To accelerate the research, Prof. Cita also collaborates with national and international experts on leprosy and allergy immunology. As Director of Professional Education and Research at Dr. Soetomo Hospital, which is FK UNAIR Primary Teaching Hospital, she will continue to develop innovations in education and research.

“Hopefully in the future, we are able to fully support the implementation of the Academic Health System Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Airlangga – RSUD Dr. Soetomo in making various innovations and breakthroughs to solve health problems in East Java and Indonesia,” she concluded.
