UNAIR NEWS – The third day of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) September 2019 Graduation was presided by UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT, Ak., CMA. Feelings of pride and emotion seen from 1,403 UNAIR graduates on Sunday, September 8, 2019.
The September Graduation of UNAIR lasted for three days from Friday to Sunday, 6-8 September, 2019. There were 3,636 graduates successfully completed their studies at UNAIR. Thousands of students can now be proud of their degrees as doctors, masters, bachelors or associate’s degree.
Being held at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) Campus C UNAIR, the event was presided by Rector of UNAIR and attended by deans from all faculties and their staff. Acting Head of East Java Education Agency (East Java) Dr. Hudiyono, M.Si., Head of East Java Manpower and Transmigration Agency Dr. Himawan Estu Bagija Esto, SH., MH., and Secretary of LTMPT Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Dr. Ismani Zain, M.Si., were also present.
On that occasion, Rector of UNAIR gave a speech. Prof. Nasih advised the graduates to be optimistic. “Airlangga Knights must be an optimistic person looking to the future,” he said.
Prof. Nasih also instilled HEBAT values to the graduates. The values contained in HEBAT are Humble, Excellent, Brave, Agile, and Transcencent.
The next speech was given by Dr. Himawan Estu Bagija Esto, SH., MH., as a representative of Alumni Association Universitas Airlangga (IKA UA). The 1987 Faculty of Law UNAIR alumni congratulated the graduates.
“You all have to face challenges. Someday there will be a time when human power will be replaced by machines, “he said.
For this reason, Dr. Himawan gave three powers that must be possessed so they are not replaced by machines. First is the ability of imagination.
“As UNAIR graduates, our imagination cannot stop. We exist because we think, “he added.
The second, he continued, is creativity. When humans are creative, we cannot be replaced by anything. Third is the ability to build relationships with everyone. It cannot be replaced.
“Welcome to the professional world, now is the time for you to return the services of our beloved alma mater. All of you are excellent graduates, ” he concluded.
Devi Azura as a representative of the graduates expressed their gratitude to parents and UNAIR. She hoped that the graduates could become better personalities.
“Hopefully we can become better individuals, serving the nation and the state,” she said. (*)
